Nik Doyle (4th dan Aikikai) began Aikido at Sussex University in 1981 under Kanetsuka Minoru Shihan (7th dan) achieving shodan at the 1986 BAF Summer School. Greatly impressed by Yamaguchi Seigo Shihan (9th dan) in 1987, Nik began to train regularly in France with Pascal Durchon Sensei (5th dan) under the direction of Christian Tissier Shihan (7th dan) who promoted him to yondan in 2011. Apart from Tissier and Kanetsuka Shihan, Nik has trained with many other Shihan over the years including Yamaguchi, Chiba, Endo, Yamada, Tamura and Yasuno.
