1st Dan Soo Tae Do
TRAINING
1989: Began training under Sensei Trevor White (6th Dan), Chairman and Founder of the South East Freestyle Association.
1990: Kicked off my competition career as a 14 year old Orange belt.
1995: Awarded First Dan in Soo Tae Do, a multi-style martial art, which combines elements of traditional Japanese karate and Korean kicking techniques.
1997 to 2007: Work Constraints brought about an enforced break in my Karate Training and Competing.
2007: My training in Wado Ryu Karate began at Kicks Dojo in Brighon under Sensai Paul Hollis. However my introduction to Wado Ryu was back in 1992 whilst training under Sensai Trevor White, I was fortunate enough to be invited to train with Sensai Tatso Suzuki, one of the most memorable experiences of my martial arts career.
2009: Awarded First Dan in Wado Ryu Karate under Sensei Paul Hollis.
Present: I train regularly with Sensei Paul Hollis and KMAC’s Chief Instructor Sensei Chris Kent. Also I attend Kumite and Kata Classes with KMAC Squad Coach Terry Robins to continue to hone my competition skills.
COMPETITION
1990 – 1997: As a Junior and Cadet (Under 21) I competed in many competitions and successfully represented my club, winning many trophies.
1994 – 1996: As a cadet I represented the Federation of English Karate Organisation (F.E.K.O) at the EKF National’s in both Kata and Kumite, my best placing being the Kumite quarter finals in 1996.
1995: Placed 2nd Cadet Kumite, London Open Championships.
2009: After returning to competition in 2008, placed 2nd in Men’s Open Kata at the Seaford Invitational.
2010: Place 3rd in Veteran’s Kata, Veteran’s Kumite and Men’s open Kumite at the London Championships, Dagenham.

TEACHING
1994: Having achieved my 1st Kyu under Sensei Trevor White I started teaching the Juniors at each of our three clubs in the area.
2009: Started teaching Competition Classes at Kicks to help promote competition and sport karate to the current students. Currently focus on Competition Kata classes but plan to promote the Kumite side in the future.
